What is Motor Third Party Liability Insurance (MTPL)
Under Motor Third Party Liability Insurance, we provide coverage for any damage you inflict upon other vehicles or third parties in an accident up to legal limits.
If the insured one causes death or injury or damage during the operation of the motor vehicle as described in the insurance policy, the insurance company pays to cover the legal liability of the operator of the motor vehicle up to the limits of the motor third party liability insurance in accordance with the Turkish Highway Code.
The insurance company pays for the reasonable and compulsory costs of the insured to eliminate or reduce the damage in an accident.
Motor Third Party Liability Insurance Premiums
Motor Third Party Liability insurance premiums are determined by the Undersecreteriat of Treasury every year. The premium amount is calculated based on the following variables.
No claim note of your car in the past year,
Brand and model of your car,
Volume of traffic in the city,
Premium amount determined for the insurance year,
Whether the vehicle is used for commercial or personal purposes,
The main difference between premiums is caused by no-claim discounts. If you do not have any accident with your car the previous year, you will have discounted rates for your insurance. However if you are involved in an accident and the vehicle owner is found to be faulty, then no-claim discount will not be applicable for you.
